Our Story

EMSTSAT,  founded by Dr. Robert Devrnja, began staffing a single emergency department in Oak Hill, West Virginia in 1984.  Care was provided in both an emergent and urgent settings, in a facility serving a rural population of approximately 20,000.

By 1990, EMSTAT had multiple facilities in West Virginia and had expanded into Kentucky and Tennessee.

In 1997, EMSTAT the predecessor company of ERx was acquired by a leading national emergency staffing orgnization to expand their services in the rural market space.

In 1999, ERx was formed and began staffing Emergency Departments in Georgia and West Virginia.

In 2006, ERx advanced our clinical providers to include mid-level Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.

As of 2013, ERx now has multiple contracts across seven states.  We have also developed a hospitalist program in which we provide in-patient care at several facilities that work in conjunction with ER and local physicians.

We understand that the needs of each facility are very different, and we pride ourselves on building relationships according to your individual needs.  We are continuously committed to Rural Medicine, Patient Satisfaction and Quality of Care.
